ISB started its first Post Graduate Programme in 2001 with a batch of 128 students. The institution has academic associations with Kellogg School of Management, Wharton School and The London School of Business and offers a one year Post Graduate Program in Management. In the last few years ISB has become a leader among the institutes offering one year programs. These programs primarily cater to work experienced candidates looking for a career in management.

The institute is located in Hyderabad, a 400 year old city, which supports many global IT firms, international companies, central and state government units, research and development institutes and defence establishments. Opportunities are plenty in the fields of Information Technology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Business Management, Construction, Pharmaceutical industry, Insurance, Tourism and more.

ISB has four Centres of Excellence which offer various programs. These centres are Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (WCED), Centre for Analytical Finance (CAF), Centre for Global Logistics and Manufacturing Strategies (GLAMS) and Centre for IT and the Networked Economy (CITNE).

ISB houses an extensive library, a computer lab, six lecture theatres, faculty and administrative offices, meeting rooms, recreation centre, and an auditorium with a seating capacity of 400. Student villages have four bedroom houses and studio apartments. These Student villages can accommodate 210 students. The library, known as the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is the heart of the Academic Centre.

The one year programme offered by ISB is a full time residential course specially designed for those with work experience. It is open to graduates from all disciplines with two years full time work experience after graduation.

A bachelor's degree with a valid GMAT score is required to apply to ISB. A TOEFL/IELTS score is required for non-Indian students who did not have ENGLISH as the primary language of instruction during their undergraduate studies.

ISB has been able to attract the best of domestic and international offers for the last several years. MNCs, companies from Financial services sector and Consulting Companies have offered substantial salary packets for varied jobs.
